The Return of the King

Are you ready for the return of the King? There are many interesting and important questions about Jesus returning to earth as King of the world and ruling from Jerusalem, but the most important question for each of us is about being ready. To be ready, we must know Jesus as our Saviour; we must know Him as the One who forgives us and makes us into a child of God.

We have been looking at the foundational beliefs of Christianity for several weeks. The importance of keeping vigilant watch on the foundational beliefs is because they relate so closely to the doctrine of salvation. But it would be a shame if we learn all there is to know about the foundational beliefs but did not act upon them by turning to Jesus for forgiveness of sin and eternal life.

We must not only know the truth by intellectual activity, but we must know the truth from personal experience. If we turn to Jesus and count on Him to forgive us, we experience the truth. If we only study about it, we can go for a lifetime knowing about the truth without really knowing the truth.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” We cannot know truth unless we know Jesus. If you have never placed your trust in Jesus, or if you are unsure about whether you have eternal life, let’s talk.
